Thank A Volunteer
To kick-off Global Volunteer Month, the Foundation team hosted Thank A Volunteer — an event for nonprofit leaders and staff to recognize the dedication of volunteers by sending postcards to individuals who support their mission. It was an afternoon of community and conversation.

In honor of National Volunteer Week, we're spotlighting individuals, nonprofits, and projects to celebrate the positive impact volunteerism has on our community. We recently sat down with Alyssa Castronouvo, Volunteer Manager of The Doorways, to discuss how volunteers help drive the organization's mission forward.
The Doorways team has leveraged the Community Foundation's engagement center to organize numerous projects. Volunteers touch every aspect of the organization's work, including making lunches for patients & families, organizing incoming donations, and even painting murals throughout the building. The Foundation team also spoke with Sheri Trice, Development Director of HomeAgain , to talk about the power of volunteerism both for the volunteer and the communities they serve.
