Building financial strength for your organization

Nonprofits large and small across our region trust the Community Foundation to manage funds on their behalf. An agency fund is a simple, efficient way to build reserves and long-term sustainability, while we handle the investing, administration, and compliance so you can stay focused on your mission.

Two kinds of agency funds

You can choose permanence, flexibility, or both.

Endowed Agency Fund

Creates a permanent source of funding. Assets are invested and held forever for your organization's benefit, producing annual spendable income. An endowed fund can also fulfill a donor's wish to support your organization for generations, without your board or staff having to manage a portfolio.

Best for: organizations building an endowment

Minimum to establish: $25,000

Flexible Agency Fund

Lets organizations with sufficient operating capital seek long-term investment returns while keeping access to principal. It works well for unrestricted assets you may want to use for special projects and initiatives.

Best for: reserves you may need to draw on

Minimum to establish: $10,000
