Growing Rural Philanthropy
Our affiliate program developed out of a desire to help smaller, rural communities inspire local philanthropy to address their own unique needs. Together, we are working to achieve lasting impact in the places we call home.
Each of our affiliates operate as component funds of the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond, giving them the benefit of our cost-effective, centralized professional services. Our team provides financial and investment management, administration and technical expertise so local leadership can focus on asset building and community needs.
What is an Affiliate?
We are proud to grow and promote rural philanthropy through our ongoing support of three regional community foundations serving five counties in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. With the direction of local staff and advisory boards, the affiliate foundations are well-positioned to meet the unique needs of their communities, while the Community Foundation based in Richmond provides cost-effective, centralized professional services like financial and investment management, administration and technical expertise.
