Regional Environmental Issues
In our region, historically redlined communities – those that have been intentionally and systematically divested of wealth and resources, face a disproportionate pollution burden. They lack green space and parks, which has led to hotter temperatures, negative health impacts and a lack of community building.
Why the Environment Matters
Our natural environment – our climate, plant life, water quality – change as we inhabit it. We must learn how to safely dwell in it, preserve it, and restore it where necessary, now and for future generations. Environmental organizations focus on protecting and preserving natural resources, biodiversity, and ecosystems, addressing climate change, pollution, and more. Solutions often involve individual actions, community efforts, and policy changes to make a positive impact.
